To re-request something that was discussed in Google Groups - and it's not making $500 a day! App should remember last daf viewed. (Either switch to it on app launch, or make it a green button on home screen). Ideally, the app should remember the page, AND your position on the page. Also if you were using dafview, that too should be remembered, and also your position and zoom level in dafview.

why not make a "Gemara Notebook" companion app (or seperate pane in italmud) for guys (like me) who have itouches
By Sam , 3 years ago
It would be nice to know if you are clicking on Rashi or Tosfos. Links that have both should also be identifiable. Possibly a different font. Right now it is almost like an "I feel lucky" link. I think that the style of the link should also not have an underline that makes reading harder (just the color is enough)

When I listen to the shiur, stop, and go back in, the audio resets to the beginning. A way to bookmark the current location (either manually or automatically) would be extremely helpful.

Could it be possible to go towards Iyoun level and add some more and classical rishonim like the Maharsha, the Rosh, Rif, potentially Ritba, Shita Mekubetset.
I know it's a bit of a dream but if you can get more pages scanned from the daf yomi edition, why not add rishonim for whoever is interested !

When chosing to download an audio or a daf, can it be done in the background so we can carry on viewing pages while it downloads. this is especially helpful when wifi is not available. A bit like the itunes app on the iphone

Any improvements that can be done here?

I purchased iTalmud for iPad today, and it was working, but now it is not. I downloaded some DAF images, and now the app crashes after the splash screen and before the program displays the current DAF for the day. Also, iTalmud crashed upon selecting certain links after performing a successful search for a keyword. Please fix these bugs and issue a new update. Thank you.

Italmud for iPhone doesn't take full advantage of big screen on iPad, even with 2x , the buttons are twice the size and frame for italmud is too wide
By Sam , 3 years ago
The narrow ones are a waste of time. Even for Bava Basra, scrolling would be quicker with a single wheel.
By Moshe , 3 years ago
I use dafyomi.co.il in yeshiva and they made a neat english summarization of all of shas. If u could make their content optionally download to be viewed alongside the daf, it would greatly enhance the user experience. (The website states that as long as the leilluy nishmas is left w/ the text, they don't mind anyone distributing it.) Lastly, there is a ton of other content (like charts for every daf and quizzes too) that can be utilized as well. If you haven't already, be sure to check them out.

Great app just needs a few tweaks. Firstly In some notes when using the English translation, there are words which aren't comprehensive. It may be words that are supposed to be in Hebrew. I don't know. That needs to be fixed Secondly, it would be much easier to navigate from the homescreen to a specific page in a masechta if once you choose from whichever masechta, you can then scroll down to choose from any daf. (and not that once you scrolled to find the masechta it opens right to the first daf and then you have to press that small button on the top right and use those small buttons to scroll till you choose the right masechta (again) and the right daf). If the editors can fix these im sure many including myself would be grateful. Thx

I seem to have a problem in the english hyper links that bring up the notes. Some of them are not properly done so if it is note 12 it will pull up note 1 (since the 2 is ignored and is not blue. This was in Avodah Zarah on a bunch of different blatt. Is there a patch comming out?

If I'm focusing on a Tosfos or a (long) Rashi the pop-up box should be larger. I anyway cannot read the text behind the box.
By Avi Gilboa , 3 years ago
When the rashi/tosfos option is on the last line (in text view), it cannot be activated as touching it simply causes the general menu (next page, prev page, daf view etc.) to pop up. The only way to get around this (sometimes) is by shifting into landscape view.
By Anshel , 3 years ago
1)The Daf calculator functions only with the date in US format. European formats are always calculating Brachot 1a (which doesnt exist)
2) there is a discrepancy between the text-daf and the Image-daf. i.e. for today (Sept 29th 2009) it shows the Image-daf of Bava Basra 38 and the text-daf of Bava basra 39. (and the audio shiur of a third daf persumably)

I just purchased iTalmud and I'm trying to use it. It opens a daf in regular print. I then click Daf view to see the Tzuras hadaf. How do I switch back into regular view? I thought the "Daf view" icon at the bottom would work as a toggle on-off, but it doesn't. I close the app and reopen it, but it comes back up where I left it in daf view. How do I get out of Daf view? Also, how do I access the other meforshim aside from Rashi? Thank you

The keyboard that comes up when you try and the search function is no longer accessible. The "New! iTorah with English" and "Get iMishna!" buttons are in the way of the keyboard. Function useless as a result!

I am reportng on the latest version of iTalmud. The simultanious view is a really welcome addition! But please stay consistent. At the moment if viewing the Daf View with english the english is on top and the daf view is on the bottom. If you choose Hebrew and English view then the Hebrew (the gemora text) is on top and the english translation on the bottom. Is it possible to add the simultanious scrolling just like in the iMishna. So when you choose the Hebrew English simultanious view when scrolling in the Hebrew will also scroll english part.

If you are asking about iPad Edition - Rashi and Tosfos are still included. You can now display them in a separate window using the Text Selection menu. Press the icon in the bottom left corner of screen, next to arrow icons.
By Moshe , 2 years ago
The following suggestion would require integration with some other apps on the user's iOS device but I think would be frequently used. However it might require other developers to coopoperate with you guys as well. If you've got Dafka's Talmud Keys or T.E.S.'s Talmud dictionary installed on your device, it would be much easier and faster to be able to turn on a etting where touching a word, phrase, or abbreviation jumps you to an appropriate definitions app. (Note that the Dafka app focuses on common phrases and abbreviations while the T.E.S. app is more of a single word dictionary which includes Jastrow's dictionary and more. Also note that both programs contain search fields that allow the user to paste text.) Alternatively you could create your own Talmud dictionary, although I advise you link to these app.

Dear Sir My father is visually impaired and the IPAD is a big help to him especially that writing can easily be magnified. He spends most of his time learning and uses your program all the time. Unfortunately he can only use the classic Daf pages and not the modern print as the font color is brown which is harder for him to read. Is it possible to have an option to have it in Black?
By James Kennard , 2 years ago
Have I missed it, or is there no way to browse directly to a particular daf - i.e. by selecting masechet, daf and amud? I can only see the way to select a masechet, which takes you to the first daf - not very helpful when you're looking for one 100 pages later - or to today's daf yomi - not very helpful if you happen to be ahead. So how about being able to select an individual daf? Thank

1. there's the update download bug...i know you say i wont be charged twice for deleting the old app and downloading again, but then why does the site continue to ask me if i want to 'buy now'?
2. there is a discrepancy in the rashi links--- the links often refer to the wrong rashi
3. there is a discrepancy betweem the text and image modes of avodah zara---specifically, there are no daf images after daf 58A ..
Aside from the bugs, its been a very nice app to have

Hello
Can you please fix the various bugs found in Sanhedrin where I find many discrepancies between the text view and daf view , for instance Sanhedrin 15a leads you to Baba Basra 175a and other pages of Sanhedrin , even if u stay in Sanhedrin , u end up in a completely different page....
I cannot check thru the whole database , but it seems that the bug is mostly in the daf view , and does not concern the audio which I found correct sofar
CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK FOR THESE BUGS AND LET ME KNOW WHEN IS THE NEXT UPDATE . MANY THKS / OTHERWISE APPLICATION IS FANTASTIC

it seems that the only reason one would browse by masechta is if he doesn’t know in which seder the masechta is in (in most cases browse by seder is quicker) a person like this will have an easier time finding what he is looking for if the masechtas are in alphabetic sequence
